How Omega-3 Builds Stronger Muscles

by admin on June 16, 2008

Omega-3 fatty acids help muscle mass develop two different ways.

First, they increase the body’s insulin levels. As the metabolism becomes more efficient, and nutritional elements reach the cells more quickly, muscle mass has an enhanced opportunity to develop.

Second, the EPAs (Eicosapentaenoic Acids) slow the breaking down of cells.

Another benefit of Omega-3 Fatty Acids that will be enjoyed by people working on developing muscle mass: the anti-inflammatory properties. Excess inflammation both in the muscle proper and the connective tissue are reduced by Omega-3s.
